Project Overview:
Old Hook Medical, a medical practice that prides itself on being “patient focused” wanted to use social media to raise awareness about general health issues as well as their practice in the local community
The Mission:
Because the client was a medical practice, they had to maintain a high level of trust in social media. Pi Social Media had to keep that in mind while drawing up their social media strategy. Thus the various elements of this campaign had to:-
- Generate trust and establish Old Hook Medical as thought leaders in their field via a combination of informative, well-written blog posts and social media updates
- Spread word about how the client was different from their competitors in the region
- Inform and educate people about various health hazards and other medical issues
- Raise awareness about the client’s various services and specializations
- Stimulate conversation all around the social web about healthcare issues in general and Old Hook Medical in particular
- Serve as a knowledge base for fans and followers
Action Taken:
Pi Social Media concentrated on providing thoroughly researched, quality blogs to establish the trust factor among the audience. The multi-pronged social media strategy undertaken by Pi included:-
- Powerful, informative updates on various social media channels including Facebook and Twitter
- Regular posts on the Old Hook Medical blog that provided valuable, quality information for the readers
- Comments on related Facebook pages and groups to reach out to a targeted audience beyond the Facebook fans
- Designing the visual elements of the campaign like the blog banner and the Twitter background, as well as the Facebook profile image
- Interacting with fans and followers regularly to keep the social buzz active around the Old Hook Medical brand
Results:
Only a few months into the campaign, Old Hook Medical had attracted more than a thousand geographically-significant, targeted followers to their Twitter profile as well as nearly a hundred fans in their Facebook page.
