Project Overview:

BSC Solar, a company that prides in being a solar power integrator and providing complete clean energy solutions, wanted Pi Social Media to spread word about their services on the social web and reach out to interested parties in New Jersey.


The Mission:

BSC Solar had very little social media presence prior to the start of the campaign. The objective was to improve their social media standing and spread the word to as many people as possible in the geographical area. To that end, Pi’s responsibilities were five-fold


  • Increase social media rankings and thus brand recognition of BSC Solar via multiple social media channels
  • Reach out to as many customers and interested parties as possible in the region
  • BSC Solar as a thought leader in the alternative energy field with powerful, informative blog posts
  • Monitor and spur online conversation on the subjects of alternative energy in general and BSC Solar and its products and services in particular
  • Educate and inform potential customers about BSC Solar’s services and the advantages of switching to renewable energy

Action Taken:

Right from the beginning of the campaign Pi focused on the Twitter platform as the cornerstone of its social media campaign. Activities included:-


  • Creating Twitter profile and customizing it to reflect the character and colors of the brand
  • Posting regular updates on Twitter as well as Facebook on industry related issues and company information
  • Creating the BSC Solar blog and customizing the header to reflect brand identity
  • Keeping the BSC Solar blog updated with relevant posts as well as moderating comments and communicating with readers
  • Designing the visual elements of the campaign like the blog banner and the Twitter background, as well as the Facebook profile image
  • Partaking in conversations on Twitter about relevant topics using hashtags, thereby spreading the BSC Solar brand across the Twitterverse
  • Creating a powerful social identity on Twitter, resulting in increased followers and inclusion in industry related lists

Results:

Just a few months into the campaign, the overall social media strategy had paid off, with thousands of location and industry-specific followers on Twitter, as well as increased awareness and social buzz around the BSC Solar brand
